On April 16 & 17, The Love Collage presents Creative Heart Collective, a Spring show and sale for local artisans, crafters, designers, bakers and retailers. This two day event will feature the talent of more than 40 local vendors and artisans. All admission proceeds will be donated to the Corsage Project to go towards a scholarship. Join us as The Gladstone Hotel Ballroom is transformed into an exciting bustling marketplace. Over the past 11 years, The Corsage Project has outfitted more than 2,000 young women, putting them on equal footing with their peers, and offering them a day to feel pampered and beautiful while they choose a prom dress and accessories for free.

This year we are looking for your help collecting donations of new formal shoes & prom accessories. Securing an adequate number of new formal shoes has always been difficult, so this year we are issuing a challenge to women across Toronto – help us collect 500 pairs of formal shoes, new pashminas and jewellery before April 10. New shoe and accessory donations can be dropped off at the Children’s Aid Foundation at 25 Spadina Road, Toronto. This will help ensure that every Corsage Girl can put together the perfect outfit from head to toe.

Another exciting fundraising initiative is “Corsage Project Days” sponsored by Beadfx (128 Manville Rd, Suite#9, Scarborough ON). Jewellery enthusiasts, from novice to professional, can drop by on any of their Corsage Project Open Beading Nights and make jewellery to donate to The Corsage Project.

Stephanie Dixon will be available to assist you in designing something special. Upcycle an old piece that’s been sitting in your jewellery box. Now is the time to bling it out and send it on to a new life! From chandelier earrings to bracelets and necklaces, all jewellery items are welcome. Beadfx is also accepting jewellery donations on our behalf until March 31st, 2011. There is no charge to attend Open Beading Night – just pay for what you buy!
